53North Support FSH Muscular Dystrophy Charity Golf Day
Never being a Company that passes up the opportunity to assist a worthy cause, 53North accepted the invitation to play in the FSH Muscular Dystrophy Charity Golf Day at the prestigious Lindrick Golf Club, in South Yorkshire. The whole day’s event was organised and corralled with expert ease by Mark Fowles, the Managing Director of Nottingham City Transport and his wife Natalie, both whom we must thank for a wonderful day.
Andy MacFarlane, 53North operations manager and team captain summed up a great day, “Buoyed by the fact that 53North were the only team to turn up in team colours, we set off in search of glory. ¾ Handicap and the best two scores on each hole to count, unfortunately, it was evident from the start, that our resident Friday golfer, the very sizeable Kenneth Mason, was about to have his own personal battle with the golf course, after his impressive Ladies on the first tee!!! Sorry Ken!! 😉 But as the holes and the day wore on, we all settled in to a nice rhythm and although we didn’t excel, we scored well on each and every hole and out of 30 or so teams we came a respectful 5th on the day. The obligatory prizes were handed out post-match, however, the biggest cheer of the day was saved for the total raised for the charity, some £11,000, an incredibly generous effort from all those that participated. Well done”
53North would like to thank Mark and Natalie for allowing us to be part of this great day and contributing to this amazing cause.
